This role is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled technician/engineer to join our fast-paced development team. You will be responsible for small-scale production and assisting with prototype design and assembly. Your primary focus will be on constructing, setting up, and characterizing fibre laser systems, as well as splicing and optimizing fibre slices for low loss and high PER.

You will work closely with the development team to develop and deploy our sensors, engaging daily in tasks like:

  • Fibre laser system construction and characterization
  • Fibre splicing and optimization of slice routines for low loss and high PER
  • Splicing of specialty fibres
  • Micro-optical system assembly and characterization
  • Assisting with the design and development of prototypes and their transfer to production
  • Assembly and testing of field-ready production sensors

About You

You are an expert in your field, with a strong background in optical engineering or physics. You have hands-on experience with fibre laser systems, fibre splicing, and micro-optical assembly. Ideally, you possess knowledge of optoelectronic systems (EOM, AOM, switches, etc.), narrow linewidth lasers, and optical design software (Zemax). You are an excellent problem solver and communicator, able to collaborate effectively within a global team.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
