Job Title: Design Engineering Specialist

This full-time design engineer role offers a unique blend of technical diversity and hands-on design challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, as well as creating 3D models and detailed engineering drawings suitable for fabrication and installation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
  • Creating 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs and ensure structural integrity.
  • Preparing and compiling engineering documentation for certification and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and drafters.
  • Conducting site assessments or field measurements to inform design work.
  • Ensuring designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Revising designs based on feedback, test results, and field data.

We work on a wide range of projects, including:

  • Transport frames, lifting equipment, and custom trailers.
  • Conveyor systems, plant equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Piping systems, pump stations, and dust extraction units.
  • Walkways, stairways, mezzanines, and structural steel platforms.
  • Prototyping and testing equipment for industrial applications.

Our design engineers typically work on projects in the mining, agriculture, marine, and construction sectors, offering engineers the opportunity to work on technically diverse and hands-on design challenges.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in mechanical or mechatronic design roles.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Proven drafting experience creating manufacturing-ready models and drawings.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.
