  • We operate custodial facilities (correctional centres) and provide community-based supervision across metro and regional NSW.
  • Our Security and Intelligence branch provides several support services to CSNSW, including a high security transport service for the movement of inmates between correctional centres and the courts and supervision of inmates whilst at court.

About the Role:

">
  • Supervise inmates in the court or cell complex or during transportation.
  • De-escalate conflict situations e.g. inmates under stress or affected by drugs.
  • Undertake security checks & inmates searches.
  • Undertake custody related administration.
  • Work collaboratively in a team.
  • Respond to emergency type situations including safely handling a firearm.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Current driver's license (with no restrictions).
  • Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Will be required to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
  • Meet the medical standards to be a correctional officer and have reasonable level of fitness.
  • No visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos - Please refer to the dress manual for further information on what is deemed prohibited.
