Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations across the farm through the implementation of our Safety Management System.
  • Lead and direct staff to achieve positive outcomes, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgement to ensure the highest standards of animal health and welfare.
  • Report on farm plans and inventory, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Paddock inspection and estimation of pasture quality and availability.
  • Implement stock rotations and contribute to plans for future feed budgets.
  • Feed management to support achievement of budgeted production targets.
  • Monitor and maintain water and fencing infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate stock, treatment, and feeding records.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate contractors for fertiliser, hay/silage making activities.
  • Adhere to company policies and safe work procedures.
Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Dairy Farm Manager in a large-scale livestock operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct peers, working effectively as a team member.
  • Reporting and computer skills, with experience in managing and handling livestock.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and implement budgeted outcomes to optimise profitability.
  • Pasture-based farming experience, with knowledge of cattle and pasture management.
  • Side-by-side and tractor operation skills, with a willingness to learn new systems of work.
  • Initiative to complete operational tasks that contribute to the team's success.
  • Ability to support and implement safe work procedures, prioritising employee safety and well-being.
