Software Architect for Embedded Systems

We are seeking a skilled Senior Middleware Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in connecting embedded firmware systems with higher-level software applications and clinical platforms.
Main Responsibilities:- Design, Develop, and Maintain Web APIs: Create ASP.NET Web API applications for ingesting, processing, and exposing data from medical hardware systems.
- Integrate with Hardware Devices: Integrate with hardware device APIs to collect, measure, and analyze ionizing radiation data for quality assurance.
- Implement Real-Time Data Streaming: Use SignalR to implement real-time data streaming, allowing clinicians and systems to interact with live device data.
- Maintain and Improve Services: Maintain and improve Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services and Windows Services for reliable transmission of data from distributed devices to on-prem servers.
- Build and Optimize Data Storage/Retrieval Workflows: Build and optimize data storage/retrieval workflows using Entity Framework with SQL Server and MongoDB, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with firmware, hardware, software, and medical physics teams to identify system-level requirements and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Develop Internal Tools and Utilities: Develop internal tools and utilities, potentially using WPF, to support operations and product diagnostics.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all middleware components comply with FDA regulations and industry standards like IEC 62304, DICOM, and HL7.
- Participate in Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews, risk analysis, and support testing and documentation required for regulated environments.
- Technical Escalation Point: Serve as a technical escalation point for product support teams.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in C# and experience with .NET frameworks.
- Middleware Experience: Experience with middleware development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with FDA regulations and industry standards.
