Job DescriptionThe Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing repair and maintenance tasks on RDA-supported vehicles and subsystems at MILVEHCOE and customer sites as required.
This role involves working with technical publications and standard workshop practices to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and effectively.
The successful candidate will have experience in maintaining a fleet of light, medium, and heavy trucks/ armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled), with a strong focus on diesel engine and heavy truck equipment service and repair.
You will be required to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents, and work unsupervised at times. A high level of self-motivation and initiative are essential for this role.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 3 years' experience in vehicle maintenance, preferably in a similar role;
- A Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence;
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents;
- A high level of self-motivation and initiative;
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
