Canonical seeks a Technical Manager to lead the development of our automotive and industrial products. The successful candidate will have expertise in software engineering, Linux, and open source technologies, as well as knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 21434 and ISO 26262.

  • Represent Canonical in the industrial and automotive community, setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.">
  • Develop skills through coaching, feedback, and hands-on technical leadership, creating a healthy, collaborative engineering culture.">
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices, working from home with international travel twice a year for company events.">

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, Linux, and open source technologies, including C/C++ and Python programming. They should also have practical experience in automotive, including functional safety, embedded systems, cloud, and related software trends. Leadership experience and knowledge of industry standards are essential.
