About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Lead to join our team at Firesoft People. As a DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for guiding your team to tackle complex level 3 support issues, requiring you to address major incidents and solve issues for high-stakes Australian businesses.

You will ensure your team has everything they need to deliver excellence, lead resourcing, training, and professional development efforts. You will mentor developers of various skills and backgrounds and help them to develop professionally and technically.

When everything is going smoothly, you will lead improvement on our customer solutions, drive focused automation, CICD, and optimisation activities. You will become the most powerful DevOps engineer possible, and we will pay for your certifications and training to help us deliver even better.

About You
  • You have experience leading a technical team.
  • You have a passion for DevOps and a driver for following best practice, i.e., CI/CD and automation.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You have experience in incident management (esp. major incidents). Support team/ITIL.
  • You have experience with configuration management and automation technologies.
  • You have experience working with and maintaining infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform - AWS/GCP.
  • You have a thorough understanding of administration, patch management, backup, and restore processes.
  • You have prior experience with Azure DevOps, Azure AD, and GitHub or similar code repositories and automated build and release pipelines.
  • You have experience in debugging and troubleshooting issues which span multiple integration components and technology stacks.
  • You have experience with operational tools around logging, monitoring, and event management.
  • You have Microsoft Azure & ITIL certifications, which are highly regarded, but not essential. We will support you in obtaining technical and non-technical certifications to help with your career development.
  • You are comfortable working autonomously in a flexible and dynamic managed services environment.
  • You are willing to provide on-call support on a roster basis.
