Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Corporate M&A (Energy & Resources) practice in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams from across our international offices and practice groups, driving high-profile public market and private equity M&A transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Prepare and review complex legal and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of commercial and legal information, providing insightful recommendations to clients.
  • Client Management and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and support throughout transactions.
  • Due Diligence and Transaction Management: Lead due diligence efforts, analyzing agreements and providing expert advice on commercial law and corporate law precedents.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and manage more junior associates and graduates, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Admission in Australia, England & Wales, or other Common Law jurisdiction qualification.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of PQE in the energy and resources sector, with a strong understanding of key risks and issues involved in large transactions.
  • Skills: Excellent time management, commercial awareness, and client service focus, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
