Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Derivatives Lawyer to support legal and business teams with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating ISDA agreements with an emphasis on commodities and metals. The role involves drafting and negotiating OTC commodity derivatives documentation, including ISDAs, CSAs, control agreements, confidentiality agreements, collateral agreements, risk participation agreements, give-up agreements, confirmations, and ancillary documentation.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience practicing law, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience negotiating ISDA agreements, ideally within a large investment bank. A firm understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting derivatives and commodities capital markets and ability to provide sound legal advice to ensure compliance is essential. Excellent knowledge of all OTC derivatives documentation with experience with commodities or metals being highly beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Support legal and business teams with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating ISDA agreements with an emphasis on commodities and metals.
  • Draft and negotiate OTC commodity derivatives documentation including ISDAs, CSAs, control agreements, confidentiality agreements, collateral agreements, risk participation agreements, give-up agreements, confirmations, and ancillary documentation.
  • Provide legal counsel to internal business leaders and external counsel to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and federal and international rules and regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation of new initiatives, processes, or protocols in an ever-shifting market.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience negotiating ISDA agreements, ideally within a large investment bank.
  • Firm understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting derivatives and commodities capital markets and ability to provide sound legal advice to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent knowledge of all OTC derivatives documentation with experience with commodities or metals being highly beneficial.
Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience.
