The Opportunity

Hitachi Construction Machinery is seeking a skilled Trade Assistant to join our Port Hedland branch. In this role, you will provide critical support to our Fitters in the service and maintenance of Hitachi equipment.

About the Role

  • Assist Fitters with the repair and maintenance of earthmoving machines, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to procedures.
  • Conduct thorough quality control inspections and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Service Supervisor to manage daily tasks and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to support warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • Strong attention to detail to identify product quality deviations and faults.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Forklift license advantageous but not essential.
