About the Role: Integration Architect
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the establishment of standards, design protocols, and development guidelines for integration components such as APIs, publishers, subscribers, and batch jobs.
• Engage in the initial phases of projects to provide High-Level Integration Architecture (HLIA), solution design, and effort estimation.
• Design and architect integration solutions that support Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), while educating the organization on the advantages of EDA and identifying opportunities for its implementation.
• Conduct impact analysis to mitigate risks during the design and implementation phases of solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and other relevant parties (including solution architects, support teams, data science, and cloud operations) to understand functional, non-functional, and performance requirements, ensuring that all critical aspects are captured to avoid delivery issues later.
• Focus on maximizing the use of existing assets to minimize project costs and risks.
• Coordinate with integration developers and testers to deliver new functionalities or update existing ones.
• Maintain continuous engagement with developers throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical oversight from initial API design to deprecation.
• Analyze complex issues that arise during development and propose optimal solutions to accommodate necessary changes.
• Manage and allocate time effectively across multiple initiatives and projects.
• Approve consumption requests and collaborate with API consumers to ensure their requirements are met.
• Develop Integration Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and address functional and technical elements of integration independently and effectively.
Required Skills and Experience
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in integration, particularly with AWS and MuleSoft.
• Proven experience in creating messaging integration applications utilizing message brokers to ensure persistence, reliability, and robust error handling frameworks.
• Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD tools such as Maven, Jenkins, AWS Cloud pipelines, and Artifactory, and the ability to integrate them into the delivery lifecycle of integration applications.
• Experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform suite, including Runtime Engine, Cloud Hub, and API Manager.
• Proficient in working with AWS integration products like AppSync, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambdas (Node.js, Python), and ECS.
• Skilled in designing APIs (REST and Asynchronous) using RAML or OpenAPI specifications, including security and governance models.
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
