About the Position


We are seeking an experienced Strategic HR Generalist to join our team in Bell Bay, Launceston. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a crucial role in driving change and ensuring the effective implementation of Rio Tinto's HR policies, systems, and programs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations matters and provide advice to leaders and employees on HR-related issues
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and challenge the status quo to enhance HR processes and procedures
  • Develop and embed HR procedures, systems, templates, and reporting mechanisms to support business objectives
  • Build leader capability in HR systems and processes, including cyclical processes
  • Facilitate organisational change through HR systems and processes
  • Lead HR projects with exceptional attention to detail and out-of-the-box thinking


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:



  • A proven track record in human resources, with comprehensive knowledge of generalist HR activities
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian employment law framework and best practice application of relevant legislation
  • Extensive experience in investigations and advising on performance management practices
  • Ability to provide HR services on-site, utilising technology platforms to facilitate strong relationships with the broader HR team
  • Resilience and ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture, with a strong commitment to team-based processes and outcomes
  • Capacity and versatility to operate in a large organisation, delivering business objectives remotely and across a diverse workforce
  • Excellent interpersonal influencing, coaching, communication, negotiation, and consultation skills
