About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Coordinator to join our team at Barry Nilsson. As a key member of our responsible business program, the Impact Project, you will play a crucial role in supporting our firm's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Climate Impact Management: Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to reduce our firm's carbon footprint, including the management of our environmental management system and emissions platform.
  • Decarbonisation Strategies: Collaborate with the responsible business team to develop and implement decarbonisation strategies, including the adoption of renewable energy sources, waste reduction initiatives, and sustainable travel practices.
  • Environmental Committee Coordination: Coordinate the firm's environment committee (BNGreen) to drive staff-led initiatives, awareness, education, and events that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Environmental Improvement Opportunities: Identify and review opportunities for environmental improvement across the firm and support the delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement to facilitate change.
  • Industry Engagement: Participate in industry-relevant groups, including the Australian Legal Sector Alliance and City Switch, to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Environmental Reporting and Budget Management: Develop and manage environmental reports and budgets to ensure transparency and accountability in our sustainability efforts.

University students working towards a sustainability or related degree, as well as those with administration or analytical experience, will be highly regarded.
