Role Description

The Support Worker role is focused on providing assistance to children and young people who may not be residing with their biological family, or those who require additional support within their Out of Home Care placement.

This role will work closely with a Key Worker to develop and implement strategies that support positive behaviours in the individuals being cared for. The Support Worker will also contribute to enhancing the daily living experiences and community access opportunities for these children and young people.

The role works within the Targeted Care Package team and involves collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including clients, caregivers, and professional staff.

About the Position:

  • Well-developed organisational skills are essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people is necessary.
  • An understanding of the principles and intent of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 is required.
  • Flexibility is key as this role may involve working irregular hours as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Community Services or Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Youth Work or similar qualification is minimum requirement.
  • A full Victorian Drivers License is also necessary.
