Job Title: Temporary Works Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Temporary Works Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Future Generation Joint Venture, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of temporary works design, coordination, and management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing interactions with local, state, and federal authorities;
  • Collaborating with workforce representatives and unions to maintain positive industrial relations and resolve issues proactively;
  • Oversight of environmental protection measures related to Temporary Works, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and minimizing ecological impact;
  • Planning and controlling the delivery of Temporary Works Design to ensure quality, completion, and project objectives;
  • Liaising with construction teams to develop Temporary Works Design solutions facilitating Permanent Works construction;
  • Actively participating in developing cost-optimized and constructable Temporary Works Solutions;
  • Managing design approval process by coordinating issue resolution;
  • Ensuring compliance of Temporary Works with safety requirements;
  • Management of Temporary Works package register, drawings, and package numbers, revision control;
  • Managing Temporary Works design consultants allocated to the project ensuring progress meets requirements;
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes;
  • Validation of temporary works conducted on site;
  • Document and record management;
  • Demonstrating sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, building construction, or equivalent;
  • White Card;
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in the construction industry;
  • Project Engineer and operational experience;
  • A strong understanding of structural and/or geotechnical engineering;
  • Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards, and implications for project accountabilities;
  • Experience working with Project Design Management Plans, Quality Management Plans, Safety Management Plans, and Environmental Management Plans;
  • Experience in managing design activities to program and budget specifications;
  • Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning, and legislative requirements;
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
