Job Description

Australian Country Choice is a leading manufacturer of high-quality chilled protein products. We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules based on orders submitted by customers, understanding forecasted demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Logistics Management: Book and manage logistics transportation to ensure timely and accurate delivery of finished products to customers and distribution centres.
  • Resource Planning: Coordinate with procurement, production, customers, demand planner, and logistics teams to ensure availability of raw materials, equipment, and personnel needed for production.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma: Implement and support lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production processes.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels and minimise excess inventory.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with food safety standards and product quality requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Utilise production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyse performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions, supply chain disruptions, and quality concerns in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Experience: Experience within the food manufacturing industry, preferably with chilled protein products.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Proficiency in production planning software, ERP.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • High level of attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
