Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Business Partner. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our office in Melbourne or Epping, Victoria.

The successful candidate will report directly to the HSE Operations Manager Energy and Power and be responsible for preventing injuries and illnesses by partnering with local business management and workers to maintain a healthy and safe workplace. Based in Melbourne with travel to Metro and Regional areas, this position presents an excellent opportunity for the right individual.

This role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide coaching and guidance on work health and safety duties to management and workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and Advising: Provide guidance and support to management and workers on meeting their work health and safety duties
  • Supporting Implementation: Assist in the implementation of policies, systems, programs, and initiatives that meet local legislative requirements
  • Promoting a Safe Culture: Foster a positive and safe work culture by role modeling safety leadership principles
  • Field Inspections and Investigations: Conduct field inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
  • Risk Management: Assist business management in continually improving the company's risk management capabilities
  • Incident Prevention and Response: Provide specialist HSE advice in incident prevention and safety performance improvement
  • Return to Work Rehabilitation: Support management in Return to Work Rehabilitation processes
  • Frequent Travel: Frequently travel within the region as required
About You:
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role is desired
  • Legislative Knowledge: Working knowledge of Legislation, Standards, and Codes, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS 4801 standards
  • Project Experience: Prior experience managing HSE requirements on major engineering or construction projects, with a strong track record in working effectively with project contractors is highly regarded
  • Auditing and Investigation: Experience in auditing and investigation
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Industry Experience: Power, energy, or other utilities industry experience is desirable
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in an OH&S, engineering, construction, or business discipline are highly regarded
