Emergency Animal Care Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled part-time Emergency Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team at a leading veterinary referral hospital. As a qualified Veterinary Nurse with a minimum Certificate IV or equivalent, you will be working closely with a team of ECC nurses and veterinarians, including specialists in Emergency & Critical Care.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional organization and communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions while showing initiative. You will be adaptable to a rotating roster and contribute to a dynamic, sometimes unpredictable workload. Experience in emergency and referral hospitals is preferable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide ICU and hospital nursing support roles, triage, and patient stabilization as part of the ECC team.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and specialists to deliver high-quality care and participate in hospital rounds each morning.
- Work in roles best suited to your capabilities, with opportunities for additional training and guidance as you learn the ropes.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and support other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the veterinary industry as a nurse.
- Exceptional organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions while showing initiative.
- A positive, proactive attitude and ability to adapt to change.
- Demonstrated skills in anaesthetic setup, monitoring, and surgical techniques.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends.
