Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishwasher and Kitchen Porter to join our team at Waterfront Southport Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and related areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cleaning and Sanitation
  • Ensure all cutlery, crockery, pots, and equipment are cleaned to the highest standard.
  • Store equipment, cutlery, crockery, pots, and glassware safely and allocate to correct areas, reporting any breakages.
Kitchen Maintenance
  • Keep the kitchen and all related areas clean and tidy.
  • Ensure cleaning procedures are followed for the cleaning of equipment with chemicals and adhere to daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Report any faults or damage to equipment to a Senior Chef or Head Kitchen Steward.
  • Operate equipment according to manufacturers' safety instructions.
Customer Service
  • Deliver superior customer service at all times.
  • Assist Kitchen and Food Service Team Members as required to ensure guests receive the highest standards of service.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Deal with food deliveries if requested by Senior Chef.
  • Report any damage, wear, and tear arising in any of your working areas.
  • Attend work consistently well-groomed, in uniform, as laid down to the standard required.
  • Be fully aware of and strictly adhere to all security, cash, and key procedures laid down.
  • Attend training when required.
  • Be fully aware of and adhere to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire, and Bomb threat procedures as laid down by the hotel and Company.
  • Suggest ideas for further improving the department and customer service standards.
  • Be fully aware of and comply with hotel and Company rules and regulations as identified in the Team Member handbook, in our policies and procedures, and displayed on notice boards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
