About the Job:

We are seeking an individual to fill this position at our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within and on the grounds of our facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Clean, wash and disinfect building areas, including walls, windows, ceilings, floors, carpets, air vents, furniture, mattresses, blinds and washrooms using various manual and power cleaning equipment.
  • Perform laundry duties as required.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse and maintain clean refuse areas; perform spot clean-ups as required.
  • Clean up areas that are potential bio-hazards with proper PPE, such as areas affected by bodily fluids.
  • Maintain and clean parking lots and sidewalks using hand and powered equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance on buildings, grounds, furniture, electrical fixtures and plumbing.
  • Set up furniture for functions and meetings.
  • Maintain various logs, key registers and other records; assist in taking inventory and ordering janitorial supplies as needed.
  • Secure buildings if necessary by arming alarms, locking doors and windows.
  • Maintain the appearance of floors in assigned areas.
  • Develop basic working knowledge of all site systems and equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff as well as work alone responsibly.
Requirements:
  • Grade 10
  • WHMIS certification
  • A minimum of six months of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
