Job Description

As a Software Engineering Leader, you'll be part of a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge digital banking solutions in Australia. You will lead by example, coaching others to develop robust, adaptable code that meets production-ready standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of .net and Java developers supporting various initiatives within the Enterprise tribe.
  • Writing high-quality, maintainable code with automated testing in mind, ensuring quality and ownership for deliverables, and setting/improving standards according to ING's agile way of working.
  • Effectively documenting and communicating knowledge, systems, and processes.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders and teams collaboratively and result-drivenly.
  • Advocating for Agile/Scrum practices, methodologies, and attitudes, serving as a role model for Agile leadership behaviors.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You'll need:

  • 7+ years of software engineering expertise with .Net and Java.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience in delivering software projects, with familiarity in Angular or React (although we use Web Components at ING).
  • A deep understanding of tools across the full software delivery lifecycle (test, mocking, source control, CI, work tracking, defect management).
  • Expertise in building RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • The ability to operate independently and provide technical leadership in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to influence and educate non-technical staff.
