Program Director Built Environment

Curtin College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead our Built Environment program. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring smooth teaching, learning, and student engagement.

You will coordinate and supervise the teaching team, including casual and ongoing academic staff, and provide leadership in course and unit development, working closely with the Program Manager and Academic Committees. Your expertise in innovative approaches to learning and teaching will enable you to drive new initiatives and projects within the discipline, aligning with the college's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications at AQF level 9 in a relevant discipline area, five years' experience in teaching within a higher education environment, and demonstrated knowledge and experience of innovative approaches to learning and teaching. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and participate equitably on collaborative tasks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring smooth teaching, learning, and student engagement.
  • Coordinate and supervise the teaching team, including casual and ongoing academic staff.
  • Provide leadership in course and unit development, working closely with the Program Manager and Academic Committees.
  • Drive new initiatives and projects within the discipline, aligning with the college's strategic goals.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of new academic staff, ensuring alignment with program needs.
  • Oversee induction, training, and mentoring of new staff, fostering an environment of academic excellence.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications at AQF level 9 in a relevant discipline area.
  • Five years' experience in teaching within a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and participate equitably on collaborative tasks.
