Your Role
In this critical position, you will be responsible for managing environmental programs, ensuring compliance, and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Your expertise will enable you to identify and evaluate risks that could impact mission success.
Responsibilities
- Manage environmental programs for compliance, pollution prevention, and/or natural resource protection.
- Prepare and oversee Statements of Work (SOWs) and cost estimates for environmental studies, designs, and projects.
- Continuously ensure and monitor compliance and investigations of non-compliant issues.
- Establish and manage hazardous waste storage and disposal policies and practices.
- Oversee identification and validation of potential contaminated sites and development/implementation of remedial action plans.
- Manage staff, budget, and policies affecting specific programs.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be a US or Australian citizen.
- Must have a US TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph, or an Australian PV clearance.
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in environmental science or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of five years of EHS experience managing projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- Must possess certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CEP (preferred), or Australian equivalents.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and statistics related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports, presenting safety training, and interacting with regulatory bodies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify safety risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Location: Alice Springs, Australia.
Work Environment: This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
