About the Role:

The Townsville City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Manager to join their team. This exciting opportunity will involve providing administration and governance functions for all responsibilities within the Environmental Health and Regulation section.

As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively with other administrative teams to ensure professional support services are provided consistently. Your primary responsibility will be to provide timely, efficient, and effective support, ensuring that all tasks align with legislative and regulatory requirements.

You will be the key interface with the Customer Service area within TCC and be the primary point of contact for customer enquiries for the section.

About You:

  • You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to provide specialist advice to a wide-ranging customer base including external and internal customers, government departments, executive leadership, Mayor, and Councillors.
  • You will be willing to work with and around animals as the role sits part of the team that provisions support to our Animal Care and Adoption Centre.
  • You will generate, monitor, and complete financial processing transactions including procuring of goods and services, managing the portable and attractive item register, coordinating travel arrangements, credit card reporting/balancing.
  • You will ensure that the Schedule of fees and charges are administered accurately, including raising all relevant fees and charges, collection of payments, and receipting.
  • You will interpret and filter customer service requests for inspection, investigation, and/or scheduling of works ensuring that priority levels are assigned in accordance with the sectional priority matrix.
  • You will administer, investigate, and accurately process relevant applications and/or projects which support the Section's requirement to meet relevant legislative and regulatory timeframes.
  • You will deliver an outcomes-focused and value-adding culture where leaders and staff take personal accountability for delivering on Council's Corporate Plan and policies.
  • You will ensure accurate record keeping (including decisions, recommendations, and resolutions) in the appropriate system in accordance with all record keeping and operational standards.
