About the Role
We are seeking a Casual Traffic Control Room Officer to work in our busy control rooms, redirecting traffic flow, coordinating response teams, and relaying critical information to keep our roads safe.
As a Traffic Control Room Officer, you will contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage traffic on open roads and in tunnels using various control systems.
- Work collaboratively with field staff, Emergency Services, and your team to respond to incidents and contain the event.
- Develop and implement Incident Management and Traffic Management plans to ensure efficient and safe road operations.
- Collate real-time information on road conditions for stakeholders, the media, and customers.
- Understand and apply rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices, and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in a monitoring centre or operational environment.
- Computer skills and analytical thinking, with a passion for new technology and systems.
- Driven, resilient, and efficient, with confidence and professionalism in challenging situations.
- Organized, efficient, and decisive in prioritizing tasks and juggling multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in writing reports and identifying key details for smooth operation.
- Shift work experience, with a preference for flexible working arrangements.
