Op Shop Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Op Shop Manager to lead our thriving Brisbane stores. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals in need.

About the Role

This full-time position involves overseeing daily operations, managing a team of staff and volunteers, and ensuring customers have a welcoming shopping experience. As part of our large and expanding op shop network, you will contribute to achieving sales targets, drive community donations, and support our mission to improve animal welfare.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the RSPCA Qld Op Shop team and brand through your passion for preloved items, encouraging a positive supportive store atmosphere.
  • Work closely with the Op Shop Store Manager and Area Manager to achieve goals and support our mission.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards.
  • Train and support volunteers to help them grow and succeed.
  • Drive sales to meet set targets, promoting our op shops as a valuable resource for the community.
  • Oversee and review all goods for sale, ensuring they are accurately priced and presented.
  • Direct and monitor daily register opening and closing procedures, maintaining high accuracy levels.
  • Maintain and periodically review the shop's pricing list, ensuring it remains competitive and effective.
About You

To succeed in this role, you'll be a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, your skills and qualifications may include:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a retail environment, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fashion and clothing brands, with a keen eye for visual merchandising.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive shopping experience.
  • High organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound computer skills, with experience using point-of-sale systems.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
