Academic Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated academic professional to join our team as a Sessional Academic. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who possess a strong passion for teaching and research, and wish to contribute to the development of students in their chosen field.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials, and other teaching activities. They will also mark assessments and provide timely and constructive feedback to students. In addition, the appointee will attend meetings as required by the Dean, Academic Operations Manager, Faculty Head, or Unit Coordinator.

Key Qualifications and Skills
  • A Master degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field
  • An understanding of contemporary global trends in their discipline field of expertise
  • Previous relevant tutoring experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
Appointment Requirements

Appointment to this position is subject to satisfactory completion of Safety Screening requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • International Police Check (if applicable)
  • Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia, e.g. citizenship, passport, or birth certificate
  • Certified copies of qualifications and transcripts
