We are seeking individuals who can provide practical and emotional support to people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.
The Opportunity OverviewThis is a casual role that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities.
About You as a Care WorkerWe require our Care Workers to be reliable, committed, and empathetic individuals who possess strong communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine interest in helping others
- Versatility in hobbies such as sewing, arts, gardening, cooking, and scrapbooking
- Experience in various outdoor pursuits and activities
- A practical understanding of hygiene assistance and commitment of care
- Enjoyment in social activities and one-on-one engagement
- Understanding of physical limitations and a safe, sensible approach
- Creativity, enthusiasm, sensitivity, and emotional stability
- Strong communication and organisational skills to manage time and support clients
- People who appreciate being with others and have a strong work ethic
- Commitment to providing responsive and considerate care
- Prioritising punctuality and reliability
- Individual, family, and guardian needs prioritised
- Flexible and adaptive communication skills
- Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services or equivalent
- A current National Police Certificate
- Open Valid Driver License and your own, reliable vehicle
- At least one year experience supporting someone with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern
- Current First aid Certificate
- Smart Phone and internet access
- Physically capable of meeting the requirements of the role
- Relevant visa or working rights in Australia
