About the Role

Australian Target Systems P/L is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team in Albury, NSW. As an Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative electronic and electro-mechanical systems for live fire target training systems and range control management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop industry-specific electronic and electro-mechanical systems for live fire target training systems and range control management.
  • Work closely with peers to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of proprietary software and hardware solutions.
  • Develop and design electronic hardware for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Creation of engineering specifications from customer requirements.
  • Development of electronic hardware for electro-mechanical systems.
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship and a current driver's license.
  • The ability to obtain and hold Australian Defence Security Clearance and Defence Common Access Pass.
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant subject such as electronic engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in a range of electronic engineering tasks including design, development, testing, installation, customer support, configuration management, and documentation.
  • Design development from concept to prototype and product delivery.
  • Building, testing, and modifying prototypes of new products, using working or theoretical models.
  • Creation of engineering specifications from customer requirements.
  • Development of electronic hardware for electro-mechanical systems.
Technical Skills
  • Analog and discrete electronics, logic, and digital design, embedded 32-bit ARM microprocessor architecture.
  • Schematic capture and multi-layer printed circuit board design, using Altium, or as a minimum, Eagle PCB.
  • Microprocessor embedded firmware development, using C and/or C++ and embedded RTOS.
  • Utilising multiple communications protocols including serial, CAN, I2C, SPI, TCP/IP, ModBus, XML.
  • Mobile wireless technologies including UHF/VHF radio, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth LE, UWB, and low power wide area networks.
  • DC, AC, and servo motor control.
Tools and Software
  • Atollic ARM IDE, GitHub, Linux.
  • C/C++, Python, Java, VHDL.
  • SMT soldering and rework of fine pitch components.
  • Sharepoint, Office 365, and Project management tools.
