High-Voltage Systems Design EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Senior Primary Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team.
You will hold both technical and supervisory responsibilities for the development of high-quality designs for primary high-voltage systems.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in substation design and/or utility grid connections, strong knowledge of Australian industry standards, and high-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on industry-leading projects, access the latest technologies, and contribute to the success of various flagship renewable and utilities projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop high-quality designs for primary high-voltage systems, including earthing design solutions, arc flash risk assessments, conductor and busbar size assessments, short circuit force assessments, and electrical field strength assessments.
Support Principal Engineers in developing designs and ensuring practicality, constructibility, and real-world feedback refinement.
Conduct site visits, inspect construction progress, and ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records, update project documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience performing in a similar role in the HV electrical industry.
Expertise in substation design and/or utility grid connections.
Strong knowledge of Australian industry standards.
High-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
