This is a 24-month career development program designed for individuals who want to make a difference in the livestock industry. You will gain valuable experience in all aspects of livestock, including sales, client relationship building, and livestock productivity.

About the Program

The Livestock Career Development program is designed for top talent to gain skills and training needed to be a future leader or technical expert within the livestock industry. The program includes four leadership and skill-building workshops, on-the-ground training, and mentorship from experienced livestock employees and leaders.

What to Expect

  • Business skills – compliance, sales, client relationship building, communication, marketing, understanding finance, problem-solving, and negotiation
  • Livestock skills – next-generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, auctions, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements, and emerging technology
Requirements
  • Strong desire to learn and succeed in the livestock industry
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong negotiation abilities
  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Worked successfully for a minimum of 24 months within the agricultural industry, ideally within livestock
  • Be willing to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
  • Be vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuine interest and desire to work and learn about the livestock industry
