The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team on an afternoon shift in our state-of-the-art facility in Truganina.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of late-model vehicles and equipment, ensuring a high level of safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Completion of safety audits and equipment inspections
Maintenance of statutory inspections and maintenance schedules
Sourcing competitive prices for parts and ensuring timely delivery
Management of workshop parts stock and organization control
Creation and monitoring of service/repair schedules for trucks and preparing daily priority lists
Liaising with suppliers, drivers, and other staff members to ensure timely completion of tasks
Any other reasonable tasks within the scope of your experience and training

In addition to the above, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Carrying out scheduled services on various vehicles and equipment
Diagnosing and fault-finding mechanical and electrical problems
Carrying out truck and trailer maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Completing required paperwork and maintaining workshop equipment
Attending breakdowns and communicating with all staff
Maintaining a safe, clean, and productive workshop environment

Requirements:

Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic - Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar
Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive workshop environment
Solid allocating, scheduling, and planning skills
Attention to detail
Time management
Safety, product, and profit orientated
Motivated and able to meet strict deadlines
Reliable with a good work ethic
Commitment to safety and customer service
Proven experience in a similar fleet workshop-based role
Open HR license preferred but not essential
Willing to provide own tools
