Senior Director of Strategic Innovation

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our technology and cyber leadership team in delivering our Technology 2030 strategy. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in helping to grow Qantas as a recognised innovation leader in the aviation industry.

This role involves leading the design and execution of compelling storytelling campaigns that showcase Qantas innovations to both internally and externally. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing internal innovation programs, including hack days, ideation events, and frontline innovation initiatives.

In addition, you will lead the translation of the Technology 2030 strategy into detailed, executable plans and roadmaps. With this, you will manage the execution rhythm for Group Technology and Cyber, including leadership meetings and offsites, to maintain alignment and accountability.

You will also lead a cultural change program aimed at building customer-focused, commercially aware teams capable of delivering large-scale, tech-enabled business transformations. This includes crafting compelling narratives around technology and AI investments to support communication with investors and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in technology, marketing, and/or communications within large multinational organisations. They will possess strong presentation and storytelling capabilities to articulate complex strategies and business value propositions.

The successful applicant will have extensive senior management experience gained in a highly complex organisation with a complex stakeholder environment. They will demonstrate leadership capability, customer and results orientation, and a strong sense of energy and purpose.
