Clinpath Pathology offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Mile End, Australia.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to assist with the processing of laboratory specimens. This role will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and complete results, with a focus on prioritizing urgent and time-critical specimens.
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and dynamic team, contributing to the smooth operation of our 24/7 laboratory. Flexibility is required, with rostered shifts covering day, overnight, evening, weekend, and public holiday periods.
The Scientist will have the opportunity to work in various departments, including LSS - Specimen Reception & Data Entry, Chemistry Laboratory, GLP automated track, and Haematology Automated laboratory. Key responsibilities include:
- Specimen reception and registration;
- Sample preparation and analysis;
- General laboratory housekeeping;
- Stock rotation;
- Equipment maintenance; and
- Verification of results, if applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess relevant qualifications and experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory. They should also have practical experience working in a diagnostic laboratory environment and sound knowledge of laboratory equipment, automated analysers, and quality control material.
