About the Role

Piper Talent Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Technical Officer to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technical Officer, you will play a critical role in the effective management of our telecommunications systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation

Develop, implement, and review programs, functions, and services to ensure the effective management of our telecommunications section.

Research and Analysis

Conduct research and analysis of complex telecommunications technology trends and assess their impact on interception.

Project Management

Develop, document, implement, and evaluate complex and/or novel telecommunication interception system projects.

Technical Advice and Support

Provide expert technical advice and recommendations on matters relating to telecommunications interception to inform decision-making and policy review.

Network and Server Administration

Coordinate and undertake network and server administration and maintenance functions and services, including for Windows and Solaris.

Problem Resolution

Resolve escalated user queries, administer complex system access, investigate and resolve incidents, and coordinate root cause analysis processes to prevent reoccurrences.

Vendor Liaison

Liaise with vendors on a technical and service level to resolve complex issues and manage the renewal or otherwise of current vendors.

Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship

Australian citizenship is a requirement for this role.

Tertiary Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through experience.

Experience and Skills

Significant experience in the planning, delivery, and review of complex system administration programs and projects, and in the delivery of diagnostic and analytical services for complex telecommunications and information systems.

Technical Expertise

Significant experience identifying, analyzing, coordinating, and implementing the resolution of complex technical issues within the total telecommunications environment, including audio, data, and internet.

Collaboration and Leadership

Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team, under broad direction, exercise judgment, and delegate authority in the application of procedures and operating instructions.
