Aboriginal Employment Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aboriginal Employment Mentor to join our team at SYC. As an Aboriginal Employment Mentor, you will play a critical role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants to achieve their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Build relationships with employers, Aboriginal organisations, and communities to secure sustainable employment outcomes.
- Engage with employers, key employees, and participants to develop skills and access activities generating new pathways to employment.
- Attend careers, indigenous, and other networking events to promote SYC Employment Services.
- Provide mentoring support to address challenges that may impact employment.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing relationships with employers, stakeholders, and participants to create new pathways to employment. You will be outcomes-focused, enjoy meeting targets and deadlines, and have a strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients is highly desirable.
- Strong engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conduct client assessments, develop case plans, and report writing.
- Self-motivation and initiative, with well-developed organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
