Scrum Master Job Description

At Infosys Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master to join our team in Sydney. As a Scrum Master, you will play a crucial role in leading our Agile team and guiding them on how to use Scrum practices and values to delight our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Scrum team as a servant leader, setting the tone for a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Craft a servant leadership style that inspires and motivates team members to work together towards a common goal.
  • Guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organization, empowering them to make decisions and take ownership of their work.
  • Develop with the team a sustainable pace of continuous improvement, identifying areas for growth and implementing changes to drive success.
  • Help the team articulate, radiate, and actively remove impediments, ensuring that everyone is working together towards a common goal.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving.
  • Create a positive team environment that empowers the team through the facilitation of discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Protect the team from both internal and external factors that may impact the team's performance, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
  • Actively work to develop new ways of communication, information radiation, and transparency for the team and their stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to ensure a strong vision, backlog development, and cadence, ensuring that the team is working towards a clear and achievable goal.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that activities are time-boxed and artefacts are visible to the team.
  • Radiate sprint team metrics that help the team see how they are doing, providing visibility and transparency into their progress.
  • Work with other stakeholders to validate and align dependencies, ensuring that everyone is working together towards a common goal.
  • Work closely with the Agile coach to grow the team, if applicable, ensuring that the team has the skills and expertise they need to succeed.
  • Understand other processes and methodologies other than Agile and can speak intelligently about them, leveraging other techniques to provide value to the team and enterprise.
  • Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures, ensuring that the team is working in a structured and efficient manner.
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team, ensuring that the team is held accountable for their work.
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics, ensuring that the team is working towards a clear and achievable goal.
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition, ensuring that the team is working in a structured and efficient manner.
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices and enhanced development practices, ensuring that the team is working in a collaborative and productive environment.
