Job Opportunity

This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity to deliver outreach support across the East Gippsland region. As a Community Mental Health Practitioner, you will empower people experiencing mental health challenges to achieve their recovery goals and live independently.

The role involves providing high-quality outreach services, case managed responses, and facilitating positive educational and social experiences. You will also plan and deliver group programs that aid people to build their skills and focus on recovery.

You will use strengths-based approaches to help people develop daily living skills capacity and resilience. Additionally, you will provide information and mentoring to people to establish connections with community families and carers create networks and access to relevant services.

Collaboration with a range of services families and the community is essential to ensure a co-ordinated integrated response to people's recovery goals.

About The Role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health Psychology Social Work Occupational Therapy or other health-related field are required.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues complex needs and interacting with families and carers is essential.
  • Experience applying therapeutic approaches such as trauma-informed care cognitive behavioural therapy motivational interviewing harm reduction and family-inclusive practice is necessary.
  • Ability to co-design co-produce and co-facilitate groups and educational programs is required.
