GP Opportunity in Coastal Western Australia

A unique chance to work as a General Practitioner in a thriving coastal city in Western Australia awaits the right candidate. With a combination of patient demand and GPs approaching retirement, there is a pressing need for an additional GP to join this dynamic team.
The practice operates two modern, well-equipped surgeries owned by three experienced GPs. Established in the early 1950s, the practice has evolved significantly over time, with the original clinic now supported by two other clinics located approximately 7 kilometers away.
As part of a large team of around 20 GPs across both surgeries, you will be supported by a management team, industrial health specialists, qualified nursing staff, and allied health professionals. The practice also features a pharmacy, pathology services, and a rehabilitation fitness center on site.
Current operating hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Prior to the pandemic, the surgery was open on Saturdays; however, this service is currently unavailable.
For those with special interests, there are various options available within the practice. GPs with experience in obstetrics and gynecology (O&G) or anesthesia can admit patients privately and work closely with the local hospital. Those with an interest in aged care can support the local care homes, while doctors with OOH experience can receive a stipend and higher billings.
Early detection and treatment of skin cancer are also key focus areas for this practice. GPs with an interest in minor procedures and dermatology can pursue these opportunities, along with a growing demand for occupational health services.
This picturesque coastal town boasts two hospitals and a diverse patient demographic. The practice has successfully attracted several UK-trained GPs who continue to thrive in their roles. The culture within the practice emphasizes collaboration, mutual support, and community involvement.
With average earnings of around $350,000 per annum, this mixed-billing practice offers significant financial rewards. Experienced GPs can earn even more by taking on additional hours or pursuing specialized interests.
