We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead our mechanical design office and drive the development of complex systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design, leadership skills, and proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
Main Responsibilities:- Direct and manage a team of engineers and designers.
- Design and develop mechanical systems including actuator arms, gearboxes, and aircraft structural assemblies.
- E nsure seamless integration of mechanical systems with electronics, avionics, and composite structures.
- Maintain a hands-on presence when needed—supporting prototyping, fault-finding, and system testing.
- Proven experience in mechanical design for complex systems (e.g., UAVs, aircraft, robotics, or automotive platforms).
- Demonstrated leadership or team management experience in an engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) for 3D modeling and mechanical systems design.
- Aerospace engineering background with mechanical design experience.
- Knowledge of lightweight structural design and materials (e.g., composites, alloys).
This is a full-time position based in Adelaide, AU. Australian citizenship is required due to defence project requirements.
