Software Engineering Manager Role

We are a pioneering Australian company revolutionizing how cities and organizations worldwide utilize AI-powered vision systems. We design and manufacture our own cutting-edge hardware and have developed a powerful, end-to-end software platform that seamlessly integrates edge AI, real-time video analytics, and cloud-based management.

We're expanding rapidly and seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to join our head office team in Perth.

The Role

This is a hands-on, in-office technical leadership position reporting directly to the Senior Development Manager. You'll lead a team working across our full technology stack, from cloud dashboards to mobile apps.

You will:

Take end-to-end technical ownership of features across APIs, frontend UIs, and backend services.

Shape architectural decisions, review code, and provide mentorship support to junior and mid-level developers.

Contribute directly to production code and help deliver reliable, scalable systems used daily by customers.

As a hands-on management position, you'll lead from the front, help solve real problems, and stay close to the code.

  • DevOps & Infra: AWS Greengrass
What You'll Be Doing

Provide day-to-day technical leadership to our in-house development team.

Architect and implement scalable, maintainable systems across the full stack.

Conduct code reviews and drive engineering best practices.

Mentor junior and mid-level developers.

Collaborate closely with hardware, product, and operations teams.

Own the successful delivery of software aligned with customer and business outcomes.

About You

10+ years of professional software development experience.

2+ years in a technical leadership or senior developer role.

Hands-on experience with backend and frontend development.

Familiarity with our tech stack.

Able to design software architecture, lead projects, and ship high-quality code.

Comfortable working across the full stack.

Excellent communicator who can align technical output with product direction.

Must have full Australian work rights, PR or Citizen.
