The Role

">

We are seeking a seasoned Portfolio Management Leader to join our Sydney-based team. As a key member of our front office, you will lead a specialized lending team, responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate style loans, project finance, and real estate loans across various sectors. Your primary focus will be on credit monitoring, analytics, and internal reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the portfolio, including analyzing credit migration trends, identifying cross-buy opportunities, conducting credit risk management reviews, and reviewing risk ratings.
  • Maintain thorough credit monitoring through regular review of covenanted financial data, project information, and compliance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Oversight of multiple Portfolio Managers to ensure proper training and development, ensuring the success of their efforts within their remit.
  • Collaboration with Relationship Managers and sector specialists to facilitate active dialogue on credit trends, challenges, and opportunities with individual borrowers.
  • Monitoring market developments and proactively managing their potential impact on the portfolio.
  • Coordination with origination and Transaction Management teams to ensure timely and accurate response to internal and external regulatory controls and audits.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, specifically with project finance loans.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management, or Engineering (or similar); a CFA certification is a plus.
  • Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities, as well as modeling skills.
  • The ability to manage internal credit approval processes from start to finish.
  • A committed and dedicated individual who continuously improves the way the team works.
  • Collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
