We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Exploration Manager to join our Strategy Planning and Corporate Development team in Australia.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse team focused on discovery and generative exploration across Australia. Your primary objective will be to advance approved exploration programs in the Australian portfolio toward discovery and milestone decision points.
You will be responsible for managing and developing the project pipeline, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring all activities adhere to the highest standards of safety and ESG principles.
Key Responsibilities- Align exploration activities with our corporate safety, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
- Lead Greenfields exploration in Australia, managing project generation, program design and execution, joint ventures, and new opportunities.
- Support the VP of Greenfields Exploration in fostering a team culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Leverage technology, innovation, and scientific understanding to enhance exploration efficiency, success, and risk mitigation.
- Direct exploration capital to the best projects and facilitate effective programs for fast project turnover.
- Engage and manage stakeholders to ensure successful program execution.
- Develop and maintain networks to stay informed about the Australian exploration industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field; an advanced degree is advantageous.
- Strong passion for exploration, curiosity, and a proactive drive for discovery.
- Proven track record of extensive practical experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and effectively design and execute exploration programs in dynamic and challenging environments.
- Extensive experience in all areas of exploration, including fieldwork, sampling, mapping, logging, drill design, drill rig management, target generation, and project management.
- Strong exploration judgment, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of economic-based decisions in exploration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and drive action.
- Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and ESG principles and practices.
- Commitment to continual learning and professional development.
- Active driver's license.
