State Tax Manager

This is an exceptional opportunity to position yourself as a leading expert in state tax, with the chance to shape outcomes that have lasting impact for your clients and the broader business community.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a State Tax Manager. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with clients to provide authoritative advice across areas including GST, land tax and stamp duty.

Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality advice, cultivating and strengthening long-term relationships with influential clients, regulators and industry stakeholders, and contributing to thought leadership and firm-wide training and business development opportunities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver authoritative advice across areas including GST, land tax and stamp duty.
  • Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with influential clients, regulators and industry stakeholders.
  • Assist with investigations and other compliance activities undertaken by various revenue offices and dealing with disputes with revenue offices.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and firm-wide training and business development opportunities.
  • Requirements:
  • Deep technical expertise in state tax with the ability to navigate complex legislation and translate it into clear, commercial advice.
  • A track record of managing client relationships across diverse industries and client groups.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship skills, with the gravitas to engage senior decision-makers.
  • A collaborative, future-focused leader with intellectual curiosity and resilience.
  • CPA or chartered accountant qualified.
  • A strong academic foundation in accounting, law, or a related business field.
