Leadership Opportunity: Drive Industry Growth

We are seeking a strategic leader to helm our Tasmanian operations, driving policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement. As the champion of Australia's largest industry, we aim to shape the future of our cities through effective leadership.

About the Role

This key leadership position will oversee the coordination and delivery of policy, advocacy, government relations, and corporate communications activities for the TAS Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies, leading public debates, and advocating for industry interests.

Responsibilities
  • Be the public voice of the property industry in Tasmania
  • Develop and implement business strategy and long-term goals
  • Lead public debates on industry-relevant issues
  • Be the chief advocate for the property industry in Tasmania
  • Develop policy positions, research, and submissions to support industry interests
  • Develop and deliver advocacy and campaign strategies
  • In partnership with Membership and Partnerships, retain and attract members
  • Ensure a robust event program providing value to members and commercial returns
  • Contribute positively to overall performance as a member of the Executive Committee and VIC/TAS leadership group
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 8-10 years of experience in a similar leadership role
  • Strategic and agile thinking skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • An inclusive leadership style demonstrated at senior levels
  • Superior experience of complex government, political, and policy development processes
  • Significant advocacy and policy shaping credentials
  • Strong strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain multiple alliances and networks
  • A track record in developing a positive team culture
  • Tertiary education in politics, public affairs, economics, law, or communications
