Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Australia, focusing on Defence clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Defence industry and experience with government procurement processes.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities for Leidos products and services in Australia. This includes establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders, conducting market analysis, and participating in industry events.

About the Role

  • Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain enduring relationships with Defence clients and stakeholders to grow the business at Leidos Australia.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with trends, emerging technologies, and competitive threats to inform business development strategies.
  • Industry Partnerships: Engage with Defence industry partners, conferences, and meetings to generate leads and promote Leidos offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities for Leidos in the Defence sector.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the Defence business at Leidos Australia.
  • Maintain relationships with Defence clients and stakeholders to ensure ongoing business growth.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive threats.
  • Collaborate with other business development teams, capture managers, technical experts, and delivery teams to develop cohesive client proposals.

Requirements

  • A comprehensive understanding of the Defence industry and experience with government procurement processes.
  • An in-depth understanding of various Defence organisations and agencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills acquired through military service or relevant experience.
  • Ability to work with classified, sensitive, or secret information when communicating with others.
  • Existing NV-1 security clearance and ability to upgrade to NV-2 if required.
