We are in search of a reliability specialist who is enthusiastic about enhancing Cloud services to join our expanding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. The ideal candidate will stay informed about current industry developments, particularly those related to reliability, and will appreciate collaborating with a diverse array of partners. You should be capable of articulating the business implications of challenges while also delving into technical solutions. A profound understanding of contemporary Cloud infrastructure, programming skills, operational experience, and a passion for innovation are essential.
Your role will involve analyzing and enhancing our services and processes to elevate our reliability, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate across teams and functions to advocate for reliability practices and will engage with various platform, product, and SRE teams to integrate reliability into our systems and promote these practices within our products. Essentially, you will be a catalyst for transformation.
You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Jira SRE in the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development of the overarching technical architecture for multiple teams.
- Collaborate with your Engineering Manager and fellow Principal Engineers to establish a vision and roadmap for the organization.
- Foster trusting relationships with stakeholders within your immediate team and across the organization.
- Champion high-quality engineering standards within your team.
- Facilitate the growth of software engineers through technical mentorship.
- Design and implement solutions that function effectively at scale.
- Expert-level proficiency with 8+ years of experience in one or more prominent programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Expert-level proficiency with 5+ years of experience in public cloud services (including AWS components like EC2, CloudFormation, RDS/Aurora, Caches, SQS, or equivalents in GCP/Azure).
- Expert-level proficiency with 5+ years of experience in managing high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed software in production: incorporating monitoring into your code, refining dashboards, defining alerts, and creating runbooks.
- Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal forms, with the ability to convey complex technical issues to a diverse audience (management, peers, clients).
- A strong desire and capability to mentor and coach fellow engineers.
