Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to support the effective financial management and performance of our branches.
  • Lead and support a small team to ensure the effective functioning of the Finance Strategy team and broader finance division.
  • Prepare clear, effective high-quality correspondence, reports, submissions and briefings for senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to prioritize and optimize the use of public funds.
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Finance Division through the identification and implementation of improvements in financial practices and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Extensive skills and experience in complex financial analyses and cost allocation methodologies in a large and diverse organization.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in using financial management information systems, spreadsheets, word processing, databases and other office software packages.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility or near eligibility for membership of a recognized professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of public sector accounting requirements and financial management procedures.
