Arborist Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arborist to join our Public Tree Team at Parramatta City Council.

This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of arboriculture practices, Australian Standards, and local government policies.

• Tree Inspections and Assessments: Conduct thorough inspections of trees to identify potential risks and develop recommendations for management and maintenance.
• Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with council policies and procedures related to tree management, including development planning control.
• Contractor Management: Oversee the work of contractors and council staff to ensure adherence to industry standards, legislative requirements, and council systems.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the community, to provide information and advice on tree management.
• Administrative Functions: Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including electronic record-keeping and reporting.

• Qualifications: AQF3 Certificate in Arboriculture (or working towards completion)
• Experience: 5 years' experience in arboriculture operations, including tree inspections, report writing, and investigations.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in using technology for field-based assessments.

We offer a competitive total remuneration package, including a salary range of $85,293 to $93,952, plus 11.5% superannuation.
